Homer died at his home near Oglesby from pneumonia following an attack of flu. He was the son of Sydney Milton and Annie C. (Gouldy) Adams. He married Sallie Lucinda Odle on October 14, 1896, in Valley Mills, Texas. They had the following children, Clifford Milton, Ina Juanita, Donald Odle, Bessie, Homer Curtis Porter, Nora, and Lela.
