Mrs. Alice Cutts Myers, 88, a great-granddaughter of Francis Scott Key, died Saturday at Coconut Grove, Fla., after a long illness.
Mrs. Myers was the widow of Marine Lt. Gen. John Twiggs Myers, who served during the Boxer Rebellion. She joined him after the siege of Peking, becoming the first foreign wife to enter the city after the rebellion.
She was also a great-granddaughter of Richard Cutts, the first controller of the Treasury and brother of Dolley Madison.
Mrs. Myers moved to Florida from Washington in the early 1950s. She leaves no immediate survivors.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Arlington Cemetery.
