WYOMING COUNTY TIMES, June 27, 1889
Dr. W. D. Hunt, the oldest physician of this place, died of heart failure on the 24th after a two week illness. He had been in active practice here (Gainesville) for about 30 years and was universally respected. He was a kind hearted and genrous citizen, an affectionate husband and an indulgent father. He laid down his burden at the age of 57 years leaving a wife and son, and a community, to mourn his loss. (Obit more versed)
Listed in the 1870 Wyoming County Directory as physician and surgeon with a Gainesville mail address.
His son, Arthur E. Hunt, is listed on the gravestone altho actual burial is in Franklin, Pa. (findagrave 167606292).
