2nd husband T.N. Dubois
Fairfield Recorder-Sept 30, 1904
In Memory of Mrs. DuBois
After a long illness Mrs. DuBois died at the home of T. J. Hall on Sept. 19, 1904.
Mrs. DuBois, formerly Miss Mattie Slaughter, was born about 60 years ago in Shelby County, Texas, but the greater part of her life was spent in this county, having come here in her girlhood. For the past three years her home has been in Dallas.
In 1871 she was married to J. W. Lake, after whose death she was married to T. N. DuBois. Four sons survive her, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Weaver, who is the only living member of a family of eight, all of whom attained the age of manhood and womanhood. When about twelve years of age, the subject of this humble sketch was converted. So, for nearly fifty years, there has been recognized in her the attributes and virtues of a Christian character.
