James Irons Kirby, 75, well known resident of Hyde Park, died at his home
of an apparent heart ailment.

James was born in Hyde Park, December 5, 1882, a son Thomas Wright and
Elizabeth Darling Irons Kirby. He was educated in the county schools.

He was a High priest in the East Cache stake. James had been active throughout
his life in the LDS Church, having worked some time in all of the church orginizations
and auxiliaries. He filled a mission to the Samoan Islands for 38 months and was also
called by the stake to fill a home mission for six years.

James married Margaret Jane Brown in the Logan, LDS Temple September 11, 1907.
They made their home in Logan for a short time, then moved to Richmond where James
worked on the telephone company as manager of that branch, and later as agent for
the Utah Central Rail Road. He returned to Hyde Park in 1916 where he farmed and
worked as a carpenter.
