George F. Mitchell
George Franklin Mitchell, 85, of Millmont, died Wednesday, July 6, 1977 at 7:15 p.m. in the Friendly Nursing Home, Millmont, RD1, where he had been a guest for the past year. He had been in failing health for more than a year.
A native of Millmont, he was born April 5, 1892, a son of the late John and Annie Rearick Mitchell. His wife, the former Dora Pick, died in 1972.
Mr. Mitchell was a retired farmer.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mestor Wert of Mifflinburg; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was the last of his family.
Memorial services were conducted Saturday, July 9 at 1:30 p.m. in the Strunk Funeral Home Mifflinburg. The Rev. Fred D. Pick, former pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, Mifflinburg, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Norman D. Yoder, pastor of the Millmont Mennonite Church.
Burial was in the Old Cedars Cemetery, Swengel.
