Benjamin Utterback was the son of Jacob Utterback and Anna Elizabeth Martin. He was born at Chester Gap in Fauquier Co Va. in what is now Rappahannock when it was formed in 1810. Marriage license issued 29 Nov 1808 married 1 Dec 1808 to Matilda Hanks (3rd cousin to Abraham Lincoln and sister of Ailse Hanks who married John Utterback who is also buried in Pitzer Cemetery) married in Woodford County, Kentucky. He brought his family from Johnson County, Indiana between the 1830 and 1840 census. issue: Fielding, Mary, Lucy, William Wesley, Martin, Joel, Cassandra, Allen, Charles, John, Susanna Jane, Eliza, Benjamin, David Lewis, Elizabeth. After Benjamin's death his widow Matilda moved to Mills County, Iowa with her son Fielding and his family.
