He was born in Edwards County Jan. 1, 1896 to George and Rebecca Mading. He married Rosa Orpha Marlow Dec. 18, 1920 in Pawnee, Okla.
Surviving are his wife; a son, James Emmett Mading, Sussex, Wis.; a daughter, Mrs. Orpha (Mading) Gould, Louisville; a brother, Lowell Clifford Mading, and a sister, Mary Lucille Voyles, both of Ottawa; and seven grandchildren.
He was a member of the Clay City Christian Church, was a veteran of World War I, and was a commander of Barracks 247 of Clay County.
Services were at the Cardascio Funeral Home, Clay City. The Rev. Keith Graham officiated. Burial will full military rites was in Greenhill Cemetery, south of Noble. IL.
