Alberta Akers died Feb. 25, 2009, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital after a month's illness.
She was the daughter of the late Landon and Angie Scaggs.
Alberta's husband, Earl Akers, died in 1985, and her son, Earl Gene Akers, died in 1973.
Alberta lived in Ironville on Donta Road all her life.
Alberta is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Moore and husband Jesse G. Moore; three grandsons, Eddie Gene Akers and Dale Moore, both of Ashland, and Michael Akers of Illinois; a sister, Minnie Boyd of Columbus, Ohio; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kirby Flats Cemetery.
