Burial record in the sexton's ledger book shows: Mr. H. V. MEIGS was born in Russell County, Alabama [sic], died aged 80 years in Russell County, Alabama, of paralysis, and was buried 31 AUG 1897 in Section 2, Lot 736.

1850 federal census of [Clapp's Factory] Land District 8, Muscogee County, Georgia, Dwelling #5 / Household #5 (all MEIGS): Henry V. (28 Philadelphia, PA) cotton manufacturer holding real estate valued at $6,500; Henrietta H. (27 Warren County, GA); Henrietta H. (4 Muscogee County, GA); Theophilus S. (3 Muscogee Co, GA); and Henry V. (1 Muscogee Co, GA).

1860 federal census of Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, Dwelling #1227 / Household #1227 (all MEIGS): H. V. (male, 39 PA) occupation not reported, holding real estate valued at $10,000 and personal estate valued at $40,000; Henrietta (15 GA); Emily (6 GA); Anna (5 GA); and Virginia (2 GA). [Not sure why the wife and mother Henrietta is not present here.]
