Born by about 1600 based on date of marriage. Agent from Cambridge, Cambridgeshire who came to Massachusetts Bay in 1628 on the "Abigail." First settled in Salem; moved to Wenham MA in 1654. Deacon of the Church, he died in Wenham MA, 15 January 1667[/8] (but according to Wenham vital records as reported to the county Charles Gott was buried 15 January 1667[/8]). His probate inventory states his death as 23 January 1667[/8], which is the same as the date of his will, and this date should be preferred to the date in the town record.
Married at St. Andrew the Great, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, 30 October 1625 Gift Palmer, born about 1602 (deposed "aged about sixty-six years," March Term, 1668; in the list of early Salem church members kept by John Fiske (which differs from that retained by the church itself) "Gift Gott" appears in a position that would place her admission in January or February of 1637/8; she was living on 23 January 1667/8 when her husband made his will.
