WASHINGTON, Ga. - Willie Belle Slaton, 89, of East Robert Toombs Avenue, Washington, Georgia, died Sunday, August 26, 2001.
She was a native of Wilkes County and the daughter of the late Milton M. and Addie Seymour Johnson. She is survived by her husband, J. Russell Slaton; daughter, Betty Ann Slaton of Washington; son, T. Marion Slaton of Atlanta; and a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Bunch of Tignall.
Mrs. Slaton was a member of the Washington Presbyterian Church, the Washington Womans Club, the Alexander H. Stephens UDC, the Friends of the Mary Willis Library and the Washington-Wilkes Historical Foundation.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2001, at Resthaven Cemetery in Washington with Dr. Harold Lawrence and the Rev. Dr. John Via officiating.
