WEST SPRINGFIELD - Thomas M. Babiec, 47, passed away Saturday Feb 5th. He was born Feb 18, 1947, a son to Max and Joan Babiec. He was a mail handler for the U.S. Post Office. Tom enjoyed collecting baseball cards, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father. Tom leaves his mother, Joan; his wife, Jennifer of West Springfield; 5 brothers: James and his wife, Carol of Chicopee, Paul and his wife, Grace of Springfield, Dan and his wife, Cathy of Worcester, Rich of Manchester, CT., Tim and his companion, Richard of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla; and his 2 sisters, Frances Petriello of Chicopee, and Jacqueline and her husband, Ron Welch of W. Springfield. Funeral services for Tom will be held Wednesday 10 am at the Toomey-O'Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans' Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Memorial Honor Program, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, OH 44720.
