FROM THE SAN ANTONIO LIGHT NEWSPAPER, THE OBITUARY FOR EDWARD LESLIE BRIDGES READS:

Mr. Edward L. Bridges, age 88, of Boerne, Texas, passed away Sunday in a local hospital in San Antonio, he was a retired rancher.

Survivors: Wife, Mrs. Mae Bridges; daughters, Mrs. M. A. Chism of San Antonio, TX; Mrs. M. H. Dick of Natalia, Texas; Mrs. Roy Harris of Odessa, TX; Mrs. Raymond Barnes of San Antonio, TX; son, Edgar L. Bridges of Coah. Mexico; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; brother, A. K. Bridges of Port Arthur, TX; sister, Mrs. Velora Chick also of Port Arthur, TX; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a. m. Thursday. Chapel Southside Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the San Jose Burial Park. Direction of:

Edward Leslie Bridges was the son of William Leslie Bridges and Martha Ann Huckabee-Bridges.

First married Minne Elizabeth Chambers on December 2, 1896 in Coryell County, TX. To this union was born a baby on October 25, 1898 which died on October 30, 1898 in Coryell County, Texas. Minnie then passed away on November 7, 1898 in Coryell County, Texas.

Edward Leslie Bridges then moved away from the Coryell County area to Tarpley, Bandera County, Texas around 1899.

Edward Leslie Bridges then married Boonie Coffey on November 1, 1905, in Bandera, Bandera County, Texas. To this union was born: Vera Violet Bridges (1907), Baby Bridges (1908), Clara Revelle Bridges (1909), Edgar Lee Bridges (1911), Della Jeannette Bridges (still living), Ethel Marie Bridges (1916), and Carson Leslie Bridges (1918).

Boonie Coffey died on May 4, 1927 from Breast Cancer. Edward moved to Boerne, Texas before 1948.

On January 30, 1959, Edward Leslie Bridges married Mauda May Trent-Wheeler, widow of James Henry Wheeler.
