He had been a resident of the Lone Pine Community near Winnsboro for the past 30 years.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. today at the Lone Pine Baptist Church with the Rev. Sardis Beaver officiating.
Interment will follow in the Old Crowville Cemetery at Crowville under direction of the First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Cora Martin and Mrs. Hettie Allen, both of Winnsboro; two half brothers, C. A., Warren Hill, both of Ruston; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Sherman Allen, J. W. Russell, Nolan Martin, Lawrence Shivers, Albert Hill and Burton Hill.
