Born Henry County , eight miles north of Martinsville. Maiden name was Miss Sallie Jane Glass. She married in 1876. Mother of ten children, seven girls and three boys. All survive her but one who died in infancy. Survivors: Husband and the following children: J. W. Eggleston and Mrs. J. T. Bray of Leatherwood; Mrs. J. L. Bondurant of Roanoke, Va.; Mrs. Laura Mason of Draper, N.C.; Mrs. G. R. Gauldin of Ridgeway, Va.; J. T. Eggleston of Kansas City, Mo.; J. R. Eggleston of Figsboro; Mrs. Homer Minter and Mrs. Musco Minter of Martinsville.
