Former Harrison Teacher, George E. Strahl succumbs.

George E. Strahl, 80, retired school teacher in Harrison & Perry Co.,IN & retired carpenter died at 11 AM Thurs. at Harrison Co.. Hosp. He lived at Magnet, Perry Co., IN but formerly resided near Corydon & Georgetown.

Born in Perry Co., IN, a son of Xavier & Mary Louise (Myers) Strahl. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Magnet, the Knights of Columbus and the Modern Woodmen.

The body was at Gehlback-Resch Fun. Home in Corydon where the rosary was recitie at 7:30p.m. Fri. Funeral services were held at 10:30 AM Saturday in St. Augustine Catholic Church at Leopold, IN conducted by Father Richard Lyons. Burial was in Church Cem.

Survivors include his wife, Frances E. Hatfield Strahl, 3 sons,;Wm. Strahl of Phoenix, AZ, Joe Strahl of Sacremento, CA and Carl Strahl of New Albany, IN; four dtrs, Mrs. Anna Crone of Corydon, Mrs. Frances McCutcheon & Mrs. Irene Carpenter , both of New Albany, IN & Sister Catherine, Order of Sisters of the Cross in Detroit, MI; 20 grand children and 11 grt grandchildren.
