She married Howard Skinner May 1, 1929 in Bedford. Nellie and Howard were strong believers in the church and had their marriage sealed Sept 26, 1933 in Logan, UT. Nellie and Howard were a team from the time they were married. She was determined to work along side her husband no matter what the task. She drove on of the first school buses in Star Valley, drove teams of horses, skidded logs and drove logging trucks from their saw mill at the head of Greys River to Kemmerer and Cokeville.
After 33 years of working in the timber industry Nellie retired with her husband and spent her winter in Arizona and summers in Thayne. Nellie always enjoyed the outdoors and if she had her choice of housework or yard work she chose yard work.
Her determination and enthusiasm will truly be missed by all that knew her.
Nellie had two children. Her daughter Joyce died at the age of four months with whooping cough. Her son DeRell died eight years ago.
After her husbands death in 1988 Nellie's health gradually deteriorated. Recently she suffered a stroke and died in Evanston Feb 27, 1994.
She is survived by two grandsons Dusty Skinner of Afton, Denny Skinner of Evanston her brother Harmon Wright of Afton, sister Melvina Jacobson of Boise, ID and five great-grandchildren.
