James Phillips
Boyes Hot Springs - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow for James C. Phillips, 48, who died Monday in a traffic accident on Highway 12, south of Kenwood.
Mr. Phillips was a native of Chico, Texas. He had resided in Sonoma Valley for the past 13 years.
Mr. Phillips was employed as a laborer by the Empire Laminaters, Inc. of Windsor.
Surviving are his wife, Florence A. Phillips, Boyes Hot Springs; his mother, Mrs. Clydella Phillips, also of boyes Hot Springs; and his father, Ben Phillips of Weatherford, Texas.
Mr. Philips was brother to Joseph Phillips, now in Guam; Oscar Phillips, Scotia; Elmer Phillips, Krum, Texas; Jack Phillips and William Phillips of Sonoma; and Calvin Phillips, Pasadena, Calif.
He leaves sisters, Mrs. Minnie Dean Riddle, Postoak, Texas; and Mrs. Della May Riddle, Sonoma.
He was also stepfather to Eunice Silva, Boyes Hot Springs; and Mrs. Hans Mauth of Fetters Hot Springs.
Services will be held in Duggan's Mission Chapel, 525 W. Napa St., Sonoma, with the Rev. Charles L. Day of the Craig Ave. Baptist Church, El Verano, officiating.
Burial will be in Valley Cemetery, Sonoma.
