His parents were Thomas Ezell and Ann Rose. He married Lydia Seat, Elizabeth Mayes and Jane Stowe. NOTE: Elder Balaam Ezell, Sr. was the first person interred in the Thomas graveyard, his death having occurred in 1844 . On his grave a plaque was placed stating he was a Revolutionary War Veteran.
