PA Death Certificate #91276 lists parents as John Barr and Mary (Good), Spouse: Bertha V. (Hoffman).

"John H. Barr, seventy, died at 7 a. m. yesterday at his home, 525 S. Plum St. A private chauffeur for a number of years, he was a member of Protective Red Rose Home Circle, No. 173, and Grace Evangelical Church. Besides his wife, the former Bertha Hoffman, he is survived by a son, Alvin C., of Lancaster; a daughter, Bessie M., wife of Richard J. Michael, of Philadelphia; a step-sister, Mrs. Margaret Bachman of Columbia; fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild."

"BARR - Entered into rest in this city on Oct. 14, 1942, John Henry Barr, 525 S. Plum St., in his 71st year. The relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral without further notice from the funeral home of C. Abram Snyder, 141 E. Orange St., on Monday afternoon, at 2 o'clock. Interment in Riverview Burial Park. Friends may call at the Snyder Home, Sunday evening, 7 to 9."
