"John H. Barr, seventy, died at 7 a. m. yesterday at his home, 525 S. Plum St. A private chauffeur for a number of years, he was a member of Protective Red Rose Home Circle, No. 173, and Grace Evangelical Church. Besides his wife, the former Bertha Hoffman, he is survived by a son, Alvin C., of Lancaster; a daughter, Bessie M., wife of Richard J. Michael, of Philadelphia; a step-sister, Mrs. Margaret Bachman of Columbia; fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild."
