Dennis Wayne Brasher lost his battle with mantle cell lymphoma on February 17, 2009. A life-long resident of New Mexico, Dennis was well known as a retail manager with Furr's Supermarkets, and more recently as Sales Manager at University VW-Mazda. Dennis served two tours of duty in Viet Nam with the U.S. Marine Corps, at the rank of Staff Sergeant when he was honorably discharged, having received many honors including Navy Unit Citation w/1*, Navy Achievement Medal w/"V" , Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnamese Campaign Medal w/Device, Vietnamese Service Medal w/3*, National Defense Service Medal, and Purple Heart. Dennis is survived by his wife, Sandra L. Brasher, sons Tony Brasher and Robert Sparks, sister Patricia Dropinski, beloved sisters-in-law Sherry Grismore and Linda Larsen, brother-in-law Bryant Larsen, nieces Teresa Dudley and Kathy Geiger, 1 grand niece, 1 grand nephew, 3 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Monday, February 23, ,2009, 11:00 a.m., at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 9100 Menaul NE, followed by a Military Honors Ceremony at 2:00 pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery where Dennis will be interred in a Viet Nam Memorial Wall. In lieu of flowers, the Brasher family has requested donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 3411 Candelaria Rd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107.
