ULFPORT --- Charles H. Locklin, Jr., 82, of Gulfport died Thursday, May 30, 2002, in Gulfport.

Mr. Locklin was born in Munson, Fla., and lived on the Gulf Coast all of his adult life. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was retired from Keesler Air Force Base, accounting department, and the Hancock Bank.

He was a member of Bayou View Baptist Church, Gulfport Masonic Lodge No. 422, where he was a Past Master, Coast Chapter No. 51 OES Gulfport where he was a Past Patron, and a member of the Joppa Temple, Gulfport Kiwanis Club and the DAV.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. Locklin, Sr. and Annie Gordon Locklin; a brother, Murray S. Locklin; a half brother, M.K. Black; and a grandson, Scott Locklin.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn W. Locklin of Gulfport; a daughter, Janis Locklin of Gulfport; two sons, Col. Charles W. Locklin, III, Chaplain, USAF, and wife, Dian, of Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Ill., Mike Locklin and wife, Kay, of Long Beach; three grandchildren, Jo Jo McGhee and Michael McGhee of Gulfport and Faith L. Tuite and husband, John, of Honolulu, Hawaii; and a sister, Lavana Charles, and her husband, Elwood, of Lancaster, Pa.

Visitation will be Sunday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gulfport.

The funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Bayou View Baptist Church in Gulfport, where friends may visit an hour before service time.

Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport with Masonic Rites at the graveside.
