A cousin, descendant of William K. via Evelina (wife of Stephen Bailey Dozier) related in her DAR application that William was born in Fayette County, TN (1817). He moved (still family lore) to Arkansas with his wife (and a child or two) for a little while and then west to Panola County, TX. Panola is a border county opposite Louisiana.

More family legend is that his brother John Franklin (44559675) was born in 1826 or 1830 (which made him younger than William K.) and he followed his brother to Texas, for a while in Panola County before moving to Hood County, TX where he lived the rest of his life.

The aforementioned DAR application listed children of William and Laura, in order, as:
Evelina (334125511)
Demetria Ann "Ellen'-b. 1839 married Thomas Spencer Hill
John (or Johnathan) A.-b. 1844
Wright H.-b.1849
Jesse-b. 1852, d. c. 1873
Cora Elizabeth (34007975) and
Pinkney Henderson (31725470)
