The deceased was born in Levern, Prussia and immigrated to this country in 1859. Her husband, Ludwig Fortriede died in February 1864. Their marriage produced 8 children, of whom one son still lives. For many years she has been almost blind and lived with Mr. Kettler for the past few years. The burial took place on Tuesday afternoon, December 22, at Lock 2 Cemetery with a large attendance. Pastor Buerkle led the service.
