ODIN — Joe A. Hitschmann, 90, died Feb. 7 at his residence in Odin. Born Feb. 9, 1918, in Odin, he was the son of Joseph E. and Emma (Reif) Hitschmann. He married Ana M. Meyeres on Sept. 10, 1940, in Odin. She survives. A lifetime resident of Odin, he was a retired farmer/ stockman. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards and gardening.
Mr. Hitschmann was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Odin and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Great Bend.
Survivors include his wife, Anna M. Hitschmann of Odin; two sons, Marvin Hitschmann of Manhattan and Harold (Poncho) Hitschmann of Great Bend; a brother, Hermes Hitschmann of Odin; a sister, Helen Zecha of Fort Dodge; and a grandson, Rod Hitschmann of Wichita. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Hitschmann, and a sister, Lenora Meyeres.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Odin with Father Dwight Birket officiating. Burial will be at the Holy Family Cemetery in Odin.
