Mrs.Ruby Reeves
Last rites for Mrs. Ruby Etta Reeves, former Winonan, were held at the Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Newton county Tuesday afternoon, June 10, at three o'clock with the Rev. M. F. Strunk of Durant assisted by the Rev. C. O. Lindsay of Union officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery under direction of Oliver Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were M. E. Daves, J. W. Davis, B. W. Chippley, Charles McMillian, John Burrell and Victor Townsend.
Mrs. Reeves was born in Newton County on September 8, 1908, and was married in 1925 to John Marvin Reeves who preceded her in death. She died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Irby Barfoot of Durant, on June 8 following a lingering illness. She was a member of the Pascagoula Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Irby Barfoot, Durant, and Mrs. Clarence Johnson, Philadelphia; one son, Jessie Carleton Reeves, Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. U. O. Scott, Meridian, and Mrs. Oscar Mould, Union; seven brothers, Clarence J. Bradley, Virginia, Joe Bradley and Albert Bradley, Meridian, H. O. Bradley, Ocala, Fla., W. C. Bradley and J. D. Bradley, Union and W. C. Bradley, Arkansas; and four grandchildren.
