Neil passed away in Tyler, February 17, 2009, after a brave battle with cancer. He was born May 15, 1939 to Kenneth Speers and Mildred Wissmack in Rockford, Illinois. He resided in Dallas prior to moving to Mineola 5 years ago.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, his wife and mother of his children, Sandra Camille Speers, and a brother, Larry.
His passing is a great loss to his wife of 20 years, Sandra Ann Speers, and his children Kenneth Speers of Rockford, Ill.; Neil Alan Speers and wife Karen of Mesquite; Tina Webb and husband Marty of Rockford, Ill.; Joey Speers of Mineola; Kimberly Duckworth and husband Allan of Mineola; Lance Enquist and wife Victoria of Farmers Branch; eleven grandchildren, four brothers, 2 sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
Neil was a avid poker player and Texas Hold 'em player and also leaves behind a multitude of friends who will miss him greatly.
His wish was to be cremated which will be handled by Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola. An open Celebration of Life will be held at Rose Hill Baptist Church in Mineola at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 28. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Animal Preservation of East Texas at 915 S. Pacific, Mineola, Texas 74773
