JAMES C. GENTRY, 71, 268 Newcomb St., New Smyrna Beach, died Saturday. Born in Sheridan, Ark., he moved to New Smyrna Beach from Washington, D.C., in 1945. He was a retired rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, New Smyrna Beach. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 17, and an honorary life member of Elks Lodge 1557, both of New Smyrna Beach. Survivors: wife, Ona; sons, James, Brandon, Richard, New Smyrna Beach; brothers, William, Little Rock, Ark., Charles, Sheridan; sister, Eunice Hilburn, Shreveport, La.; three grandchildren. Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach.
