Funeral service for Otis Foster Green will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at The Sanctuary Church in Chelsea. Pastor Gary Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow in Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of the Chelsea Funeral Home and Crematory.
Foster died Fri., Dec. 23, 2005, at Tulsa Nursing Center at the age of 89 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
The son of Otis Franklin and Laura Harrion Green was born September 25, 1916 in Chelsea, Oklahoma. On May 4, 1938, Foster married Mabel L. Burchett in Claremore. He was retired from Peabody Coal Mining Company. Foster was a member of United Mine Workers Union, and The Sanctuary Church, Chelsea. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing the harmonica, dominoes, cards, hunting, etc. He loved social gatherings with family and friends, and attending church. He was excellent with training horses, and dogs.
Foster is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Clara Schoemaker, and Emma Clanton; brothers: Lincoln Scruggs, Tommy Green, and Willie Green; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Irene and Harold Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel of the home; daughters: Shirley Ann Green of Tulsa, and Margaret Sue "Maggie" Titus of Tulsa; son-in-law, Thomas A. Titus of Inola; brother, Alvie Green; brothers and sisters-in-law: Novie Green, Ed and Betty Burchett, and Pearl Burchett; grandson: Michael Travis and wife, Kathy; great-grandsons, Dillon and Tommy Travis; granddaughter, Cynthia Gilmer and husband, John; and great-great-grandson, Austin Cody Travis.
