Rev. Otis Monroe Allen, 85, of Malden, Mo., formerly of Greenville, Kentucky., died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Saint Francis Regional Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Born Feb. 28, 1916, in Butler County, Kentucky, son of the late Sion Bass and Flora Mae Jernigan Allen, he was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII, retired from the Chrysler Corporation, retired General Baptist Minister and a member of the Duvall's General Baptist Church in Greenville.

On Sept. 18, 1943, in Muhlenberg County, Ky., he married Ruby Nell Luckett, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include two daughters, Judy Cowsert and husband, Jim and Barbara Coons and husband, Jack, all of Malden; three sons, Darrell Allen, of Belton, Ky., Wayne Allen, of Louisville, Ky. and Rick Allen, of Malden; three sisters, Martha Cobb, of Los Alamos, N.M., Ruth McDonald, of Greenville and Edna Shamblin, of Arab, Ala.; seven grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Adren, Arthur, Sion Lee and Andrew B. Allen and three sisters, Grace Jernigan, Nora Maxberry and Anna McDonald.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Duvall's Chapel General Baptist Church in Greenville with Bro. Ken Miller officiating.

Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.
