BROOTEN - Jessie W. Beyl, age 90, died Monday, October 22, 2007, at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood, MN.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 29, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooten, MN, with Pastors Ralph Peterson and James Gronewold co-officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 - 11:00 A.M. on the day of service. Interment will follow in the Minnesota Veteran's Cemetery at Fort Ripley, MN. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Brooten.

Jessie Winifred Weishair was born on October 31, 1916, in Burleene Township, Todd County, Minnesota, to Frank A. and Nellie D. (Tracy) Weishair. She attended the rural elementary school through the 8th grade and graduated from high school in Long Prairie. Following graduation, Jessie remained in Long Prairie where she trained to be a teacher and then taught country school. She later received her degree from the Minneapolis Institute of Medical Technology and worked as an x-ray technician in Willmar, MN. On October 10,1949, Jessie was united in marriage to Donald Clifton Beyl in Webster, SD. The couple had 2 sons and resided in the Twin Cities for several years before moving to Brooten in 1989.

Jessie was a member of the VFW in Monticello, MN and the American Legion Auxiliary in Brooten. She served 5 terms on the Silver Creek Twp. board and served as an election judge everywhere she lived. She was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooten where she served on the church council, altar guild, evangelism committee and did quilting.

Jessie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donald; 2 sons, James (Nicole) Beyl of Foley, MN and Donald (Diane) Beyl of Richfield; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 7 sisters.
