ABBEVILLE, ALABAMA. . .Naomi Alder Kelley, a resident of Riverview Forest Estates, Abbeville, Alabama, died late Wednesday night, February 18, 2009, at her home. She was 89.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Thursday, February 26, 2009, in the Copherf-Fesler-May Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana with Mr. Chuck Loser officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood Cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary, Abbeville, Alabama is in charge of local funeral arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 2855 Ross Clark Circle, Suite 110, Abbeville, AL. 36310.
Mrs. Kelley was born and reared in Elwood, Indiana, daughter of the late Robert Morton Alder and Pansy Dell Maley Alder. She lived in Elwood, Indiana most of her lifetime before moving to Abbeville, Alabama in 2005 where she was a former resident of the Dogwood Manor Assisted Living. Mrs. Kelley was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, traveling and ceramics. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell F. Kelley, two daughters, Caroline Ann Kelley Brogdon and Cathleen Kelley Kerwin and a brother, Robert Alder.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Colleen Nolder and husband, Mike Nolder, Abbeville, AL; two sons, Robert D. Kelley and wife, Billie Kelley, Lodi, CA; Larry G. Kelley and wife, Nancy Kelley, Dothan, AL; two sons-in-law, Robert Kerwin and wife, Mary Kerwin, Palatka, FL and Billy Joe Brogdon, Elwood, IN.; a sister, Kate Thrawl, Elwood, IN; twenty-eight grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
