Paul completed Basic Training at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, then on to Kentucky, and on to San Marcus, Texas, where he took Helicopter Mechanics at the Air-Force Base there. Paul was then sent to Seoul, Korea for a year. His job there was to see that all helicopters were in tip-top shape. He won several awards for Marksman and a good conduct medal, and was discharged in 1959 as a Sergeant.
He was the father of Dawn and Cyd.
