Williston, Aug. 8 — (Speclal) — Mrs. Ella Rutland, 82, lifelong resident of Barnwell county, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hiers Cook, late this afternoon following an illness of several months.
Mrs. Rutland, one of the oldest residents of Williston, was a member of the Rosemary Baptist church.
Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside in the Old Field cemetery at 5 o'clock Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. M. B. Webb of Barnwell, assisted by the Rev. Manley Hutto.
Mrs. Rutland is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Hiers Cook of Barnwell, R.F.D.: one stepson, W. R. Rutland of Williston; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Maggie Beck of Augusta, Ga.: three brothers, Leighton Hair of Blackville, Earnest Hair of Bluffton and P. M. Hair of Williston; two sisters, Mrs. L. E. Birt and Mrs. John Grubbs of Laurinburg, N. C.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The body will be at the home of the daughter until the hour Of the funeral.
