K-CITY RITES FOR GROCER SET FRIDAY

Knox City – Funeral for Melton James McWhorter, 76, retired Knox City grocer, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church.

Mr. McWhorter died of a heart attack at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in his home.

The Rev. Murrell Johns, First Baptist pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Pinkard-Smith Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Jess Rice and Mrs. Weldon Brown of Wichita Falls, and Mrs. Bill Hutchinson and Mrs. W. T. Wilcox of Knox City; four sons, Fred and Grady of Fritch, Tex., Clyde of Donna and Ray of Rochester; 28 grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters.
