WILLIAM THOMAS SMITH
William Thomas (Tom) Smith, 69, retired business man of Oregon City, where he had made his home for over 40 years, died Tuesday afternoon at the Hutchinson Hospital, following a five weeks illness.
Mr. Smith was born December 26, 1875, in Arkansas, and when a lad resided at what is now Crescent, in years past as Jones Mill, three miles from Oregon City. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Oregon City.
Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Mildred) Campbell, Oregon City; two sisters, Mrs. Mina Strong, Bandon, Ore.; Mrs. Kate Stoltz, Portland; besides a number of nieces and nephews. His wife, Lucinda Marrs Smith, died July 11, 1944.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the Holman, Hankins and Rilance Chapel. Rev. Roy W. Anchor, pastor, will officiate. The soloist will be Mrs. Wilbur S. Warren. Internment will be in the family plot in Mountain View Cemetery.
