Lydia Greiner
Mrs. Lydia Priscilla Greiner, daughter of Frederick and Mary Wagler Seitz, was born in Groveland Township October 4, 1903 and died in her home near Morton, Illinois on October 25th, 1958, age 55 years and 21 days. On December 8th, 1928 she was united in marriage to Elmer Greiner in Sterling, Kansas.
She is survived by her husband and two sons, Rev. Floyd Greiner of Union City, Indiana, and Duane at home, also two brothers, Edward Seitz of Uvalde, Texas and Eli Seitz of Hutchinson, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Rose) Saxton, Burdett, Kansas, and Mrs. Ralph (Kate) Hill of Nickerson, Kansas. One son is deceased.
At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with the Evangelical Mennonite Church of which she remained a faithful member. She attended Fort Wayne Bible College from which she graduated in 1925.
She was in ill health for the last several months but bore her cross patiently and maintained a steadfast faith in her Lord.
Farewell dear mother take thy well-earned rest,
Allow thy head upon the dear Savior's breast.
We loved you well but Jesus loved thee best.
Some day we'll meet again on yonder shore,
Where tears and sorrow will be no more,
Then we shall be together forever and evermore.
Funeral services were conducted Oct. 27 at the American Legion Hall in Morton by Rev. Paul Rupp, and at the church by Rev. E.M. Rocke, the pastor, assisted by Rev. Mill Nussbaum. Burial was in the church cemetery.
