"George A. Arnold who for many years was a resident of Morgan county before moving with his wife to the State of California, passed away at Redlands, California, June 25th.
He was born April 12, 1871 in Missouri, a son of Willis and Letha Arnold.
In the year 1895 he was married to Ida Mae Berkstresser, who survives him. To this union were born eight children, one of whom, George Sylvester Arnold, preceded him in death in 1934.
The surviving children are: Mrs. Modena Cox of Versailles; Mrs. Audra Friedley of Versailles (Audra Frances Arnold Friedly ); Mrs. Vallie Eggers, Mentone, California; Mrs. Velma Breece, Redlands, California; Mrs. Lucille Williams, Mentone, California; Robert Arnold, Mentone, California, and W.H. Arnold, Kansas City. He is survived also by one sister, Mrs. Nancy Hamrick, of Denver, Colorado, twenty-six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
He joined Antioch church in 1932 and was a member of that church at the time of his death.
Funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at Antioch church, conducted by the Rev. Leonard H. Westphal, pastor of the Versailles Methodist church. Interment was at Mt. Nebo cemetery."
