Services for Velma Rudolph Truitt, 98, of Paducah, were held on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at Milner and Orr Funeral Home.
The Revs. Roger Reid, Kevin Medlin and Gary Elrod officiated, followed by burial in Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Ms. Truitt died at 12:35 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at Parkview Nursing Home. She was a member of Woodlawn Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Women's CPW, Cumberland Pioneers and retired from Paducah City Schools.
She is survived by one daughter, Jane Jernigan of Paducah; one son, Troy Truitt of Calvert City; one sister, Etta Smith of Council Bluff, Iowa; two brothers, Andy and the Rev. Allie Rudolph, both of Reidland; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart Truitt; and five brothers.
Her parents were Edd and Myrtie Rudolph.
