Carrie married Joe Schmidt and had one son, Lyle. She lived in San Francisco during WWII and worked in the defense industry. She later married Frank Homes and had one son, David. Together, they owned the City Cafe in Casselton. Carrie later moved to Moorhead, MN and was employed by the Moorhead Public Schools and Moorhead State University. She retired in 1977.
Her sons, Lyle Schmidt and David Holmes, Her parents, and her brothers, Wayne and Ronald Harness precede her in death.
Carrie is survived by her sister, Annabelle Olwell, Fargo, a grandson, Joel Schmidt, and several nieces and nephews.
