Emily was born in Sheboygan, a daughter of Frederick and Marie (Schirmer) Zittel.
On June 7, 1941 she was united in marriage to Christian Ruppel. He preceded her in death on October 26, 1976.
Emily is survived by two daughters, Karen Bennett of Suprise, AZ and Kristine (Steve) Hoppe of Sheboygan; five grandchildren, Dorsey (Brad) Palermini, Cary Rowland, Courtney Rowland, S. Mark (Tanya) Hoppe and Benjamin Hoppe; and seven great-grandchildren, Danielle, Alyssa, Amber, Kyle, Ashley, Kaylyn, and Amalia.
She was also preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.
Entombment in Garden Terrace Mausoleum.
