JoAnn Mae Sullivan, 76, of Fort Dodge, died on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at Tompkins Memorial Health Center with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with the Rev. Richard Ries officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, where there will be a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a vigil at 7 p.m. all at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, John B. of Fort Dodge; daughters, Mary Jo Schulte and her husband Jim of Saline, Mich., Eileen Simonson and her husband Roger of Fort Dodge, Sally Mainquist and her husband Kent of Minnetonka, Minn., Kathy Hoeppner and her husband Gary, of Manson, and Joan Sullivan-Roy and her husband Dave of Castle Rock, Colo.; a son Joseph Sullivan and his wife Laura of Louisville, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Ronnie McGough of Fort Dodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents John H. and Josephine "Josie" Hoefer Doyle; sisters, Peggy Nelson, Viola Westergard, Mary Munn, and Irene Bock; brothers Joseph "Jack" Doyle, Larry Doyle, and Chuck Doyle; and a great grandson.

JoAnn Mae Doyle was born on Sept. 3, 1932, in Fort Dodge. She attended Catholic schools here and graduated from Corpus Christi School in 1951. On July 5, 1951, she was united in marriage to John B. Sullivan and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. JoAnn worked various jobs including several local bakeries, Randall's Grocery Store, and DLaney's Restaurant. She retired in 1992 after 12 years of employment with Target. JoAnn was a member of Holy Rosary Parish.

Memorials may be left to Holy Trinity Parish, the St. Edmond Catholic Schools System, or to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
