Robert Carroll, 84, of Finley, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 at Oakwood Community Living Center.

He was a retired employee of the Dyer County Highway Department and was a Baptist.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Bro. Calvin Smith officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Carroll of Finley; four daughters, Mary Alice Walker of Dyersburg, Ann Smith of Richwoods, Vickie Bradley of Newbern and Barbara Neugass of Palm Springs, Calif.; two sons Robert Daniel Carroll and James Allen Carroll, both of Richwoods; a sister, Novelene Carroll of Florida; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Edward Carroll; his parents, Jim and Johnnie Carroll; three sisters; and four brothers.

Pallbearers will be Carlton Carroll, Billy Carroll, Chuck Smith, Chad Smith, Michael Hicks and Craig Hicks.
