James Henry (Squire) Frakes, 89 years old, passed away at 2 o'clock Saturday morning, Jan. 3, 1931, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. G. Egbert of Nevada, Mo. Mr. Frakes was born at Greencastle, Ind., Nov. '22, 1841, coming to Vernon county in the early 60's, and settled on a farm five miles south of Rich Hill and lived there until about three years ago. His wife preceded him in death ten years ago.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Anna Brodie and Mrs. Nina Bostick of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs, Bertha Lyons of Fulton, Kans., Mrs. Fannie Kramer, Miss Lena Frakes and Mrs. Grace Egbert of Nevada, Mo., and two sons, Frank Frakes of Klamoth Falls, Ore., and Chas. Frakes of Port Arthur, Tex.; also grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services at Nevada Sunday at 2 p. m. Interment at Ball town cemetery.
