Bailey A. Birdsong papers say he was buried about three miles east of Elysian Fields. This may be the Birdsong burial grounds, which I believe must be on the Alex. and Marium Birdsong property. Part of the original property had been sold to son Wm. A. Birdsong in 1844. This being part of the land Alex. Birdsong purchased of Edwin A. LeGrand. This being in the Republic of Texas and County of Harrison. Panola county was formed later from part of Harrison and part of Shelby County.
