Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Monsignor Phillip Johnson officiating. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Bud was born in Omaha, Neb., on Jan. 1, 1936. He was the youngest of five children of Joseph and Sophie Skarbek. He had a successful, rewarding career with the Army, serving in Germany and as a unit adviser for the 172nd Transportation Company in Omaha. He then began a long successful career with the Social Security Administration until he retired.
Bud also was a respected American Kennel Club obedience judge for over 20 years. In addition, Bud and his wife, Judy, were actively involved in their own obedience and field competition. He enjoyed and had a great passion for promoting the sport. Bud's care of all dogs was only surpassed by his love of his golden retrievers.
Survivors: Wife of 48 years, Judy; sons, Mike and wife, Melinda, and John and wife, Laurie; grandchildren, Alex, Johanna, Abby and Sean; brother, Raymond and wife, Donna; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
