John Drake
John Drake, 77, of Atascadero died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1986, in a Templeton hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Santa Margarita Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Smith and members of the Elks Lodge of San Luis Obispo will officiate.
Mr. Drake was born May 20, 1909, in Oklahoma. He retired in 1971, having worked as a machinist engineer for 44 years with Union Oil Co. He moved to Santa Margarita in 1929 and later moved to Atascadero where he had been a resident for 22 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge for more than 40 years.
Mr. Drake is survived by his wife, Nita Drake of Atascadero; three sons, John Drake of Stockton, Herbert Drake of Santa Margarita and Hubert Drake of Bridgecrest; one daughter, Sue Ann Windham of Santa Margarita; two brothers, Travis Drake of Texas and Ethridge Drake of Martinez; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Chapel of the Roses.
