Ruth Jacobson Davin


Ruth Jacobson Davin, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and great aunt, died September 15, 1998 at her parents' home of cancer.

She was born February 1, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Paul G. and MarJean Buhler Jacobson. She married Charles F. Davin August 24, 1974.

Ruth graduated from Hillcrest High School, and attended Westminster College in Salt Lake and Marymount College in California. She donated over 800 hours at LDS Hospital and over 800 hours at Marina Hospital in Marina Del Rey, CA. Ruth was a member of the LDS Church. At nineteen she became president of the Young Women and organized a trip to Disneyland for both Young Women and Young Men of the Midvale 2nd Ward. She served in Primary and taught genealogy classes in Utah and California. Her Primary calling gave her great joy and she had a special love for the neighbor children.

She loved her husband, her little dog, her many nieces and nephews, and her Alex and her Drezden to whom she was a loving great aunt.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Charles; her little dog, Suzie Q; granddaughter, Kira; parents, Midvale; sister, Maureen (Von) Behunin, Centerville; brothers, Paul K. (Colleen) Jacobson, Riverton; Reid (Jeannie) Jacobson, Midvale; four nephews and eight nieces; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by her little dog of fifteen years, Tevie, grandparents, Iris K. Buhler and Alma and Vira Jacobson.

The family wishes to express their thanks to all the members of the Homestead Ward, especially the Relief Society and Bishopric for all their love, support and help that was given; also to the IHC Hospice. Thanks also to Dr. L. Scott Jewkes for helping provide support and comfort through her treatments.

Ruth will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 18, 1998, at 1 p.m. in the Homestead LDS Ward Chapel 5735 So. Fashion Blvd. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday at the church from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
