Mrs. Alma B. Snyder, 92, formerly of RD3 Decker Hollow, and a resident of Epworth Manor for the past four years, died Monday evening, March 6, 2006 at the Tyrone Hospital. She was born August 18, 1913 at Marengo, Huntingdon Co. a daughter of Jacob Oliver and Daisy May (King) Barto. She was married December 19, 1959 at Port Matilda to Foster B. Snyder who died October 12, 1988. She is survived by four children: Lester E. Ostrasky of Chambersburg; Marlene Campbell of Geeseytown; Connie L. Bradford of Lebanon and Janet Dixon of RD3, Tyrone; a grandson Richard L. Bradford, raised in the home; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Alberta "Betty" Igou of Tyrone. She was preceded in death by sisters: Vivian, Olive, Helen, Marie, Melinda and one brother. She retired after many years at Reliance Manufacturing Co. She was a housekeeper for the Dr. Grebe family and caregiver to many elderly. She was also employed by the PRR during WWII. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 9, 2006 at noon at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Pastor Joan Smith officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona. Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour before the service on Thursday.
